Introduction 

My name is David Massey of Dilhorne Park Gundogs. I run a very small Kennel, with only 10 dogs. My  love of gundogs began 30 years ago in my late 20's, when I started beating and picking up  on local shoots with my dogs.  I developed a  passion for training spaniels and labradors for beating, picking up and rough shooting , which has later in my life led me to me competing in Kennel Club Field Trials .

Upon starting competing in Field Trials over the last few years I have been fortunate to have gained awards in both Open stake and Novice trials  with my extremely well trained English Springer Spaniels .

To date,  I have been fortunate to qualify for  the KC English Springer Spaniel Championships in 2017 , 2023 &2024.

At the Championship in 2023 I was awarded a Diploma of Merit and in 2024 I was awarded 4th Place. Additionally, In 2018,  I also  had the honor of representing England at the 4 Nation International  Gundog  Test Competition at  the Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace  and also in  the 4 Nation  International Gundog Tests  at the CLA Game Fair, Ragley Hall, Warwickshire.

I am still actively involved with both working and trialling spaniels and pride myself on producing a dual-purpose dog with the ability to successfully compete in trials, but also work effectively in the shooting field. I am currently a Non Panel spaniel judge for the Kennel Club and have judged working tests and KC Field TRials throughout the UK.
